JADED - The Audioquest Dragonfly Headphone Amp/USB DAC
The first time I listened to music with the Dragonfly was with a pair of Audeze LCD-XCs and a SubPac S2 Tactile Bass Ssytem! It sounded great, and the SubPac made it so much better. I've been using the Dragonfly with a pair of Sennheiser HD7s (with cushion pads) - and I'll be talking about them more soon.
I hadn't really noticed a big difference between the Dragonfly's sound and the computers headphone output sound at first, most likely because I wasn't listening to the two one after another. I listened to the two recently, one after the other, and… Wow. The Dragonfly sounds amazing compared to my computers' headphone output. The sound is louder, more dynamic is the term I believe. I'm learning this Hi-fi vocabulary with my Uncle Mikey - so bear with me. With the Dragonfly, there's greater distinction between bass and treble, and speaking of bass: The Dragonfly puts out amazing bass. There's really not much else I can say about the Dragonfly, it's just great. If you're a headphone or earbud user, this is a great buy. The Dragonfly is also compatible with a Playstation 4, if you have one. It's a great experience to play a game with great sound quality, like Battlefield 4. You can hear every bullet whiz by you, and it's awesome. The Dragonfly might also work with other next-gen consoles, but I can't confirm that since I only have the Playstation 4. If you're a fan of dubstep, trap, or any other EDM genres, you'll have blast with this.
In conclusion, the Dragonfly is a great thumb DAC/headphone amplifier. If you're a headphone user, I'd highly recommend it.
