Man what a long strange trip it's been! Twenty years, down to this moment, this second, this hour, my surroundings. I've tasted bottom, and, as my ex-wife (in-process of separation) used to say "we tasted the dirt" - and that was/is POWERFUL. So, I tasted the DIRT, and success, and it's time to honor the great men that came before me and showed me how to walk in the light no MATTER WHAT I'M DOIN'. I mean, ya'll haters are flappin' your lips, as I've said in previous tip-offs, but it's time to fuckin' SOUND OFF:
I got a world a' girls behind me, and my readers do my merchandising. So how do you fuck w/ dat? Me? I'm stayin' POSITIVE. IF I can inspire a solitary moment when a reader gets motivated enough to pick up a weapon for our personal audio arsenal, then I know I've done some GOOD.
Part of being an evangelist is pretty fuckin' simple: I just am. I love music and great sound. When I see a pretty woman wearing cheap/not-so-good-for-your-ears earbuds I just show em my lil' travel cans (this time the excellent Beyerdynamic T51is - which isolate do damn well for on-ears, and are great for the celly too) - Jacqeline was blown-away - and then more-so by MrSpeakers Ether!! I was using my trusty Astell&Kern AK240 & Sony's damn sexy (well-made for the non-gear-geek) ZX2 DAP (digital-audio-player) and the Beyers sounded terrific with each, as did the Ether! Of course, I had help on the power end there from my Lehmann Audio Traveler battery-powered headphone amp... But I LOVE turning people onto hi-fi!
Even Phyils fell in love with the Beyers sittin' next to me on my flight!
So, meeting Phylis, Jacqeline & Don (from the town I currently reside) - and turning them onto MrSpeakers ETHER, and the magic sound of my lil' Beyedynamic was such a WARM & FRIENDLY experience . We're actually gonna have em' over to Red House Studios for one of our famous fire-pits!

We hear back from JADE the Blade - as he cuts right through the thick of it in Vol.2 of Jades Truth
RAL (RATOC Audio Lab) takes their amazing sound (I loved their first affordable headphone amp/DAC at EnjoyTheMusic.com - imported into the US by Moon-Audio.com) into the Optical realm w/ their REX-KEB-02AK! Runnin' it right now w/ my MacBook/Amarra-forTIDAL rig via Audioquest Forest optical cable - sounds musical and engaging thus far, and also w/ my AK240, MacBook Pro/Amarra Symphony & Amarra-for-TIDAL...
I've been talkin' about Double Helix Cables since I my first listen to Peter Bradstocks' magical winning-formula. Cables, however, IMHO, do not have a "sound" of their own - rather, they either impart something of themselves onto the musical signal in varying degrees, or, they do what I believe a good cable should: Pass the damn signal. Now, I've heard noise-floors affected, in good and bad ways, I've heard colorations as the result of A/Bing with different cables - you name it I've tried it when it comes to hi-fi cabling. Double Helix Cables, or, as I often call them: DHC, are my favorite personal audio cables, period. I love others, like Moon Audio, Wywires, MIT, Black Cat Cables, and Nordost (their are others that I hear about too - a TON of stuff out there) but there's something about what Peter's doing right now. It feels like when Joe Reynolds and his team broke through this barrier in the mid-to-late-nineties. Nordost, for me, lowered so much of the crap, the noise-floor, that a system could be so quiet, and that was mind-bendingly cool. The systems we built using Nordost back then were (still rely on Nordost for my foundation today too) quite plainly, acted like the greatest conduit right to the soul of the music I'd ever heard. Peter Bradstock of DHC is doing that kinda' work. The man's an audio artisan, and we're going to be speaking with him shortly. Sorry, but shit he makes good stuff - so I'm psyched to have a digital chat w/ him for you guys - we're in touch digitally all the time... But that's gonna be GOOD.
I'm also psyched that I came to use Peters product through our youngest writer over at Audio360.org - Ethan!! (and YES - an Audio360.org update is in-order ASAP)
